Klara Feenstra by Troy Paul Bloom

I'm a writer from London with an interest in comedy, social ecosystems, and consciousness.

In 2023, I was given an Emergent Ventures Grant to write my novel-in-progress, a psychological novel about addiction, Catholicism, and class (but it will be funny!).

Arts Council England funded my time at a writers residency in Ted Hughes' House (2022) and earlier that year I received a grant from the Royal Literary Fund.

In 2021, I received my MFA in Fiction from UC San Diego with full funding from UCSD's Literature department and Friends of International Center. My thesis was a novel about the internet, language, and the London suburbs. My supervisors were Jac Jemc, Anna Joy Springer, Anya Gallaccio, and Lily Hoang.

From 2019-2021, I was on the board of Alchemy, a journal of Translation and worked alongside Kazim Ali for Nightboat Books' poetry award, 2019.

I received the Inaugural Colonel Walker Scholarship to study Rhetoric and Sound at UC Berkeley in 2015, Erasmus funding to study Polish literature and language at Uniwersytet Jagielloński, and a Study China Scholarship for Shandong University’s Mandarin program.
